Rabbi Michael Dubitsky

Rabbi Michael Dubitsky has been serving as a hospital chaplain for Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Phoenix, for fifteen years. He visits and counsels the Jewish patients in fifteen major medical centers.

His compassion and insight have been well regarded by patients, staff and family members.

Rabbi Dubitsky is also an enthusiastic and creative educator who has been involved and teaching in the Phoenix community for over twenty years. Rabbi Dubitsky is an instructor at Shearim Torah High School for Girls as well as in the Mesivta of Phoenix.

Rabbi Dubitsky received his semicha from Yeshiva University as well as advanced degrees in Jewish education and law. He has been instrumental in starting the bikur cholim and providing for the needs of hospital patients. 

Together with Rabbi Muroff and Mrs. Roizman, his dream of providing kosher

closets is being realized.

Rabbi Muroff was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. After attending Yeshivas Bais Yisroel in Jerusalem for six years, he received semicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg.     

Rabbi Muroff has spent the last 15 years in chinuch and Rabbanus in Connecticut, Georgia and Arizona. 

He currently serves the community as the Associate Rabbi at Ahavas Torah and as the Boys'  Principal at Torah Day School of Phoenix.

When moving to Arizona in 2017, Rabbi Muroff recognized the lack of Bikur Cholim Rooms in the hospitals and considered trying to make it happen. 

In 2021 Rabbi Muroff's niece was hospitalized for several months in the tri-state area and was the beneficiary of the fantastic bikur cholim rooms and closets found in those hospitals. It was at this time that Rabbi Muroff committed to making this a reality in Arizona as well, for the sake of the many locals and visitors that find themselves in the hospital and in need of help, on a regular basis. 

Together with Rabbi Dubitsky and Mrs. Roizman, this commitment was, Baruch Hashem, made into a reality!

After recently going through hospitalizations with a loved one, I understand firsthand how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. That experience gave me a deep passion for patient advocacy — making sure no one has to navigate illness alone.

I’m working on two ideas with Bikur Cholim to ease that burden: coordinating interpreters for out-of-country patients so language isn’t a barrier to care, and setting up meal trains when families need nourishment and support.

My goal is simple: bring comfort, dignity, and practical help to patients and caregivers during some of life’s hardest moments.
